The HERO Mission:

From the very start, the mission of the AIDS/Lifecycle HERO project was simple;

Promote an atmosphere of HIV Awareness and Prevention among the AIDS/Lifecycle community through visibility, leadership and example.

During the Aids/Lifecycle 6 event, the ALC Heroes stood out with their bright and colorful Jerseys and jackets, which encouraged people to come up and talk. The red bandanas made a nice gift, so people would remember the moment throughout their ride. The HEROES Creed validated their participation, and reminded them what the ride is all about.

These three things together brought HIV awareness and prevention to the surface, and delivered the message of the outreach to the entire ALC 6 community.

Don't just do the ride. BE the ride
If you'd like to become a member of the next HERO squad for 2008, sign up. It's easy and fun and more importantly, it gives you an opportunity to participate in the ALC on a little greater capacity, to do more than just ride.
